Faith

Understanding the nature of faith:

Faith is a belief that something doesn’t need to be factual is true. A varied and possibly false idea in which there may have no logically evidence to support the idea of faith. Faith is rather a more emotional idea (such as hope, determination or devotion), which provides a spiritual support toward the people those that have faith in an idea or a person. It is an every changes phases of lost of faith and regain of faith in a more imaginative way.

“People have faith in god” this is a very vague and lack of evidences statement in which to prove that god existed. The strong idea of which faith have on god, in a global scale, (group consensus) created an ideal image in the people mind for the existence of god in the everyday life of people. Even though, it is an argument subject about the existence of god, the focus here is that the idea of faith upon the idea of god is vague and illogical. With no scientific explanation for the people faith on god, it is hard to understand the reasons for their belief. However, as this is just an outsider point of view on the idea of faith.

A person that has faith would tell a very different story. “God works in mysterious ways”, this is an emotional and a revelation statement in which to show the spiritual factor in a situation that cannot explain through logic. The idea of god and the faith that people have on god give a emotional relieve to a situation in which that it is impossible to escape (driven to a corner).

Therefore, the nature of faith is dependence to the point of view of different factors that either against or support the idea of faith. In conclude, the nature of faith is endless as it differs and changes between the people as it effects the emotional and the unexplainable part of the human being in which to have faith in something is a revelation to a situation.

The strengths and limitations of faith in seeking knowledge:

The strengths of faith that give to the humans’ spirit in which to help them to cope with an extremely difficult situation, such as the situation such that a mathematician trying to find out if a formula is true or not, but through many trials and errors he seems to be lost and unable to find the proof for the formula existence. However, he didn’t stop as he has faith that the formula is true and the faith that he can accomplish this task helped him to actually find out the formula. This shows an aspect of faith on a specific object and the hope of the mathematician has on accomplishing it. It is the driving of which to give people the determination to accomplish any difficulties. In another sense, faith is the driving force in human strength.

Faith also linking people together, as it linked to religions and beliefs. The common faith of a religion links the people in that certain group to be closer, more motivated to be with the people that have the same ideal. As a strong believed group with the same belief in faith helps to link people and makes them a stronger and more cooperative group.

However, the limitations of faith can restriction the gaining of knowledge. Faith can be too vulnerable toward emotions. Human emotions are very puzzling as it varied between people and cultures. The overdrive of one of these senses can leads to obsession of faith or even superstition toward something totally untrue. Also there are situations that show the discrimination of people with different sense of belief and have different ideal of faith which creates argument and disturbance within a society.

  1. I like how you consider the nature of faith from both perspectives - believers and non-believers.

    You probably should check through the grammar a little though ^^;
