Faith

Faith is the conviction of things hoped for and the assurance of things of not visible. It is also emotional than rational as faith becomes stronger when they are in a desperate situation without any choices. In some aspect, faith is the desire for people to believe in something to explain for the incidents that cannot be explained through scientific reasoning. Therefore, people may faith can be confused with superstition but both may be used interchangeably. .

While there are no proofs, people may experience events that may have been merely coincidences. However, the desire for people to believe in something causes people to believe in the faith further. People usually look for patterns which cause people to put higher expectations on something that cannot be explained. The increase in the experience of events or knowledge may cause increase in the faith to fill in the gaps which cannot be filled through other areas of knowing (math, science, social science etc).

Faith has its benefits by giving hope and guidance when needed. It may be the only help people receive when in a distressed situation. This helps people to become more optimistic, trying to find solutions independently rather than relying on others. However, faith also connects people as it can be divided into different types of ‘faith’. Faith can range from the personal to a religious belief which may connect to different groups of people when having the same faith or belief in something.

However, faith has its limitations. Faith obviously cannot be explained through evident proof. Faith largely depends on personal experiences these can easily be manipulated to be perceived as desired by the person. Therefore, excessive belief in faith can lead the person to become isolated from the society. In some aspect, this may even lead the person to live in their own worlds believing in something that can never be explained to others. Faith is largely something that cannot be accepted by everyone in the society. Some people tend to rely excessively on some things. Hence, this causes people to become largely dependent on something that they have no scientific support.
